Agoria's classic ‘For One Hour’ is back for a re-release with new remixes in 2020 !
Sébastien Devaud started producing in 1999 and first gained international recognition with a series of 12´s on Pias recordings in 2002, which were followed by the acclaimed album ‘Blossom’ a year later. One of the pioneers who invented techno in France, Agoria has produced other four long-players, released on some of the most celebrated techno labels like Innervisions, Kompakt and Hotflush and remixed artists such as Moby, New Order & Metronomy. His production techniques have collided with an army of notorious artists including Tricky, Neneh Cherry and Peter Murphy (leader of the legendary Bauhaus).
His desire "to constantly try new adventures", lead him to help to establish the Nuits Sonores festival in Lyon, and to create two of the most avant-garde labels of the French electronic scene: Infiné in 2006, a platform for new music that always challenges and excites, then his own label Sapiens in 2016.
The last album ‘Drift’ (2019), in collaboration with Mercury / Universal, confirmed his talent for the sensuality of acoustic melodies and the refinement of modernist productions, without ever completely denying his electronic roots.
Originally released in 2013 ‘For One Hour’ features the amazing vocals from Scalde, complemented by a soaring violin, dessicated horns and Agoria's typically rhythm pattern. Epic and elegant. The package includes new remixes by Laolu and Fort Romeau.
Geneva based Laolu drops his best remix since his reinterpretation of ‘Too Much Information’, a perfect amalgamation of modern house vibes, deep basslines and elegant synth textures with the intense vocals of Scalde. Classic ! Michael Greene aka Fort Romeau has made a name in the last years with his releases on labels like Running Back, Correspondant, Permanent Vacation. His rework is built on a 707 beat, lush bass and warm keys, and the strings take on a Balearic softness.
Atmospheric and emotional , timeless and melancholic !
