Toronto’s finest man, James Teej began his journey into electronic music in 1995. With a DJing and production career already spanning more than a decade, James moved to Toronto in 2005 to make his presence known internationally. Having signed tracks to labels like Connect Four, Tic Tac Toe and Rekids, and performing at shows worldwide, James is quickly becoming one of Canada’s rising stars.
With “Spending Life” James shows his skill as playful producer and vocal performer ! He says “Spending Life was inspired by many events going on in my life at the time I wrote the song. From personal struggles, to the onset of much of the global financial crisis and continuing wars, the song was written ultimately with a message... one of hope, and one reflecting the much needed search for something more meaningful in people's lives than money and materialism. With inspiration stemming from The Doors, Joy Division, and early Bowie, I tried to capture an honest overall sound prevalent in the late 60's and early 70's, with an obvious modern twist to help make it relevant today".
Danny Fiddo, dj resident of Valencia’s worldwide known club Barraca, and Affkt, taleted Spanish producer, deliver a bomb remix, already loved and tested by Radio Slave at this year WMC ! A fantastic afro free jazz jam session where impressive percussion parts respond to a Moog and a Rhodes overlap by trumpet, trombone and guitar. A master-piece.
Highly respected producer Ripperton, who runs the successful Perspectiv label drops a darker, intense and deeply hypnotic remix ! Snappy hybrid drum patterns with a bit of house and bit of clattery old-school Detroit edge give it strong drive, leaving things stripped down in such a way that his mix glides right by you, and as soon as you’ve finished, you want it to glide by you again.
